House of the Express may soon be history


St. Jean Baptiste Historical society president Marc Bremont (top pic) stands beside the Smoky River Express newspaper office located on Main Street in Falher. The Falher house, which was built around 1914, remains as one of the longest standing historical buildings within the community. It was purchased by South Peace News Ltd. owners Jeff and Mary Burgar in 1992 and has been serving the community as the newspaper's home since.



House of the Express may soon be history

One of the oldest original houses in the Smoky River on its original location may soon be preserved as an historic site in time for centennial celebrations next year.
