Residents roll out red carpet for new physicians


Residents in the Smoky River region rolled out the welcome matt for the two new physicians (Dr. Fred Isiguzo and Dr. Emad Alshigagi) and their families Oct. 4, 2012 at the Golden Age Club in McLennan.The special event, which was hosted by Smoky River Regional Physician Recuitment & Retention Committee, attracted upwards of 75 people. Included in the photo is Falher Councillor Donna Buchinski, Dr. Fred Isiguzo, daughter Melony and his wife Andra, SRRPR&R Coordinator Myrna Lanctot, Nadia Alshigagi, McLennan Associate Medical Clinic representative Aline Roy, Dr. Emad Alshigagi, Smoky River Family & Community Support Services Director Georgia Carter, Girouxville Mayor Carmen Ewing, Rachelle Berube, McLennan Councillor Cathy Dunne, Donnelly Coun. John Coy. Ugo Isiguzo as well as Sara and Yara Alshigagi.



Local endoscopy capacity doubles over past year

Local capacity for endoscopy services has doubled over the past year, thanks in large part to an arrangement with five Grande Prairie surgeons who perform diagnostic and treatment procedures at the Sacred Heart Community Health Centre in McLennan.


Support this year's Remembrance Day poppy campaign
