MLA Goudreau hands out funding


Societe du Centre Communautaire Riviere-la-paix received a grant funding cheque in the amount of $28,000 in December 2013. Esther Picard, Rachelle Berube and Diane Chiasson accepted the Community Facility Enhancement Program cheque from Dunvegan-Central Peace-Notley MLA Hector Goudreau. The funds will be used for renovations to the Chevaliers Centre.

It’s the moment hockey lovers have been waiting for: Kraft Hockeyville opens its nomination period with even more prizing opportunities. With many local rinks across Canada in need of repair and upgrades, Kraft Hockeyville is giving communities the opportunity to breathe new life into their rinks, keeping them open for many more years to come. The nomination period runs from January 1 to February 9, 2014 at KraftHockeyville.ca.


Spotlight: Extensive information on wheat midge in Peace Region

On Dec. 18 and 19, the Smoky Applied Research and Demonstration Association, in cooperation with the M.D. of Smoky River No. 130, Northern Peace Applied Research Association, Alberta Agriculture and Rural Development (AARD) and Agriculture Canada staff hosted wheat midge producer information meetings in Donnelly, Manning and Rycroft.
