FABuLAS support from ATB Financial. ATB Financial Branch Manager Dave Chapados presents a sponsorship cheque in the amount of $2,500 to the FABuLAS (Falher & Area Beautification and Leisure Activities Society) committee Feb. 28 in support of the organization's splash park project and masquerade ball fundraiser March 22. Representing the committee are directors Lorraine Desaulniers and Tara Gagnon, as well as vice-president Pauline Therriault and president Selena Sliger.

Commentary: Newspapers dying? What about comic strips

After witnessing Bill Watterson, creator of beloved comic strip Calvin and Hobbes, publish a panel 19 years after retiring, I freaked out for two reasons. First, it was very unexpected but equally awesome. Second reason, the cartoon character he created was holding a newspaper with a headline that read, “Bye-Bye Newspapers.”
