Grass fire occurs southeast of Falher

Smoky River Fire & Rescue responded to a grass fire on the afternoon of May 9, located on Range Road 213 (farm land) approximately seven kilometres southeast of Falher. McLennan RCMP responded to the fire along with firefighters from Donnelly, Falher and McLennan. Crews focussed their attention around the perimeter of the property and put out the fire with shovels and hoses. Smoky River Fire &Rescue reminds everyone to be extremely cautious when performing a controlled burn. M.D. passes $12.8 million budget for 2014

Residents within the M.D. of Smoky River No. 130 will not see a mill rate increase for 2014.
