on July 9, first responders were on the scene at the intersection of Range Road 244 (Highway 740) and Highway 49, which is the turnoff to Tangent in Birch Hills Country, to deal with a collision between a semi truck and a gravel truck. The McLennan RCMP Detachment, the Tangent Fire Department and EMS responded to the scene.

Fiery collision on Hwy. 49 claims life

At approximately 7:10 a.m. on July 9, the McLennan RCMP, the Tangent Fire Department and EMS were called to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 49 and Range Road 244 (Highway 740), in Birch Hills County.
