Some very important lessons to be learned in bicycle safety

Last week, children participating in the Smoky River Family and Community Supporter Services' summer program had the opportunity to learn about bicycle safety. They brought their bikes to the Falher campground on Aug. 20 and Gordon Ellert and several others taught them about hand signals and stop signs, how to ride in figure-eights around pylons and the importance of wearing a helmet. They also learned about quad safety, as Vic's Car Care loaned one of their four-wheeled machines for the activity. Last week also marked the end of the FCSS summer program.

Ecole Providence in McLennan has a new principal for 2014/15, Krista Veitch, and she wants to continue the school’s culture of treating each student as an individual, address their needs and nurture their particular talents.
