Several local post-secondary students each received a $500 Dr. H.W. Fish Bursary presented by the Royal Canadian Legion of McLennan during Remembrance Day services. After 30 years, this is the final year of the award for students going into studies in the medical field or other related field. Next year the bursary will be presented by the Legion. Receiving the award this year were: Marc Benoit of Guy in second year of medicine at the University of Alberta, training for a physician. Royal Purple Bursary Kayla Jones and Darrel Laboucan Jr of McLennan each received a Royal Purple Bursary of $250, presented by Dianne Laboucan.
