Hicks kissed Molly the mule during the school’s “Jail & Bail” Christmas fundraiser Dec. 18. Students and staff collected 3,980 food items and donated $1,213.14 for Smoky River Christmas Hamper program, sponsored by Smoky River Family and Community Support Services (FCSS). As part of the challenge, Owens would wear a ladies’ figure skating outfit with 1,500 items donated, Doucet would wear a dress to school for the day with 2,000 items, and Hicks would kiss a mule with 2,500 items. As another fundraiser, the distance learning class raised $70 for World Vision to buy two rabbits and warm clothing for 25 children.
