Lakeland Eagles goaltender Rod Branch stops a shot from Spirit River Rangers forward Kyle Zaichkowsky in game one of their best-of-seven North Peace Hockey League Campbell Cup final in McLennan March 15. The Eagles went on to lost the game 4-3 in double overtime. Game two of the series saw the short-benched Eagles drop a 6-4 decision in Spirit River despite a gutsy effort. That set up a pivotal game three at H.W. Fish Arena last Thursday which resulted in a 5-4 overtime win for Lakeland, which now trails 2-1 in the series.

Simard guilty on five charges of unprofessional conduct
’An Alberta Teachers’ Association disciplinary committee has found former G.P. Vanier School teacher Lori-Lee Simard guilty of four charges of unprofessional conduct.
