Smoky River Soccer Club has a new, improved look in 2008

Kids involved with the Smoky River Soccer Club are sporting new jerseys this year, thanks to the support of local businesses throughout the Smoky River region.

The Smoky River Soccer Club is sporting a new look this year. And it’s all thanks to the generous financial support of businesses throughout the Smoky River which answered the call for assistance by making monetary donations to help cover the cost of the new duds. “We’re just so grateful to all of the businesses that stepped up to the plate by sponsoring our new jerseys,” says Stephanie Dempsey, president of the regional soccer club. In return, the soccer club placed the names of all the company sponsors on the jerseys as a fitting way to recognize them for their support. Response to this year’s soccer program, meanwhile, is at an all-time high with roughly 200 kids participating. Executive members of the soccer club would like the thank all volunteer coaches for their time and commitment to the program this year. Thanks also go out to business sponsors: Marval Promotions, A & M Confectionary, Bee Clean Car Wash, Stenhouse Construction, M.J. Hearing Protection, Wolfe Creek Honey, Za-hair-a Hair & Tanning, ATB Financial, Horizon Credit Union, The Co-operators, Ken Bar Farm, Sylvain & Doran, C.G.A, and Smoky River Dental Special thanks to Marval Promotions for for bringing in the jerseys, shorts and socks fas well as Cara Hicks at Squarehed Designs in High Prairie for putting all the company names on the jerseys. The executive also wishes to thank G.P. Vanier school for giving the club access to the soccer fields in Donnelly.
