Girouxville museum officially opened its automotive building on June 6. THe centre was created to house a number of items that were previously not displayed. Museum board member Terry Paradis says that the centre has been in the works for the last year. "Our board felt that we should build it to expand our regional museum." About 74 people were in attendance to embrace the grand opening of the centre. The building currently exhibits an old Girouxville fire truck, the first ambulance in the area, an old car and various farming artifacts. MLA and Minister of Employment and Immigration Hector Goudrea was on hand to cut the automotive centre's ribbon. "We were very happy that Mr. Goudreau could fit un into his busy schedule," says Paradis. She explains that the ribbon cutting of the centre was a historical moment for the Girouxville Museum.
