People from around the local communities flocked to Canada day events on July 1st in McLennan and Falher. Falher's celebration included a day at Smoky River Visitor Information Centre. The celebrations included children's games and a barbeque with hot dogs, hamburgers and refreshments. Approximately 100 people were involved with the celebrations. Canada Day activities in McLennan were held at the Kimiwan Birdwalk from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Events included a flag raising ceremony (singing of the national anthem), a Canada Day cake, a children's scavenger hunt and crafts. There was also tours of the birdwalk and museum.
