4-H Members from throughout the Peace region were at the Peace River Agricultural Grounds June 27 and 28 for the Peace Regional 4-H Horse and Heifer show.
The two day event brought members together to compete with one another and learn from each other.
The highlight of the event was the ‘Showmanship Swap’ on Saturday morning when the horse and beef club members taught one another the basics of showing different species.
Beef members then showed horses and horse members showed beef.
Members practiced their speaking, teaching and showmanship skills and truly learned to do by doing!
The judge for the Horse Show was Bobbi Shannon Finnebraaten from Wembly.
Member with top points for the day in Level 1 (beginner rider) was Danielle Nagy from the Peace River 4-H Multi club.
Member with top points for the day in the Levels 3 and 4 (advanced rider) was Kaylee Hawley from the Smoky River 4-H Forever club in Falher.
Judge for the Heifer Show, Randy Voss from Beaverlodge, and his daughter Randi-lynn.
They assisted members to develop their showmanship and judging skills.
Grand Champion and reserve champion female for the show were both owned by Cara Noble from the Three Rivers 4-H Beef Club in Manning.
The Peace Regional 4-H show committee wishes to thank the Peace River Agricultural Society for the use of the fair grounds for this event.
Thanks as well to all of the members and leaders who contributed to this event.
