Alcohol and speed are believed to be factors in a fatal motorcycle collision last Tuesday evening in Falher which claimed the life of a 41-year-old Nampa man.
McLennan RCMP say Robert Gervais was pronounced dead at the scene of the two vehicle collision, which occurred directly in front of Honeycomb Inn on Main Street shortly after 9 p.m. on the evening of Sept. 2
Sgt. Ged Dentinger says an initial investigation into the cause of the collision has revealed that Gervais was driving at a “high rate of speed” when his southbound Harley Davidson broadsided a northbound pickup truck attempting to turn left into Honeycomb Inn.
The name of the driver of the pickup truck was not disclosed by RCMP.
The investigation is continuing with the assistance of the Peace River Traffic Reconstructionist.
