A corn roast hosted by the Donnelly Recreation Society and ACFA on Sept. 7 raised over $700 towards a new playground project in Donnelly. "We had a great turnout along with great weather," says society president Cindy Maisonneuve. "Again the local area has shown it's community spirit by coming out and supporting our annual fundraiser." Approximately 140 people attended the recent corn roast which raised $721.44. "It was great to see everyone enjoying good food, visiting and the children engaging in all the activities," Maisonneuve adds. She credits ACFA with doing a tremendous job with the children's activities consisting of face painting, a bouncy tent, coloring, crafts, and candy hand out. Organizers of this year's fundraiser wish to thank everyone who donated their time and/or supplies for the event. That includes Falher Horizon Credit Union, Petey's Movies and More, Falher IGA, Falher Co-op, Donnelly Fire Department, Smoky River Agricultural Society, Kan's Corner, Denis and Suzanne Maisonneuve, Carmen St. Laurent, Nancy Michaud, Jeanine Labrecque, Brigitte Cahoon, Nancy Westad, Anchlee Gauthier, Guy Beaudoin & Kendell Malenchak, Andrea Therriault, Donnelly Recreation Society board members, Guy Donnelly Sportex, and Codesa Colany.
