Search warrant executed on drug house yields results

The Peace region’s war against illegal drug trafficking activity took another positive step forward Oct. 15 following a drug bust by the Peace Regional RCMP.

The war against illegal drug activities in the Smoky River region is receiving equally impressive results in Peace River.
Peace Regional RCMP (Peace River) executed a search warrant at a residence located in the south end of Peace River Oct. 15 resulting in the subsequent seizure of thousands of dollars worth of drugs, weapons and paraphernalia.
Staff Sgt. J.L. Haney says the bust included 60 grams marijuana, 32 grams of cocaine, 16 grams of psilocybin, three prohibited firearms and a significant amount of cash.
A total of three individuals stand charged with a variety of offences, including possession of the aforementioned substances for the purposes of trafficking under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.
In addition, firearm offences have been laid under the Criminal Code of Canada.
Charged is Corey Leigh Curtis, age 22, Keith Allen McComb, age 29, and Ashley Dawn Woods, age 19.
All three are residents of Peace River and were scheduled to appear in Peace River Provincial Court on Oct. 20, 2008.
Curtis and Woods have since been released while McComb remains in police custody.
Peace Regional RCMP and McLennan RCMP continue to mobilize and challenge the local community in an effort to stem the distribution of drugs within the Peace region.
