If you’re craving homemade soup and sandwiches, a new restaurant at the Falher recreation complex will soon be available to meet your needs.
Under the direction of manager Shirley Lapensee, BonApetit Café will be officially opening on Jan. 5 in the kitchen section of the recreation complex.
“We will be featuring two homemade soups each day,” says Lapensee, who explains the need for a quick simple lunch in the area has risen. “We will be using un-sliced bread from the grocery store, but would like to eventually make homemade bread.”
Restaurant hours will be Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., catering to the lunch crowd. The café will also be open during curling bonspiels and hockey games and tournaments.
“We plan on having a variety of healthy alternatives on the menu,” says recreation coordinator Lise Cote. “There will be daily specials, salads and healthy items like grilled chicken breast burgers.”
BonApetit Café will feature an on-going menu item of chili-on-a-bun. Cote and Lapensee explain they are focussing on hot, hearty meals to satisfy athletes, families, and community spectators.
The café will be open in December for all minor hockey and Pirates games. On Jan. 5th, the café’s official opening, regular hours will commence from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday to Saturday, as well as hockey games and curling bonspiels.
Catering will also be available through BonApetit and the recreation complex. There are two banquet style rooms available for rent at Falher Regional Recreation Complex through the Town of Falher by phoning Viola at 780-837-2247.
If you would like a small to medium-sized Christmas party or family event catered, call Shirley at 780-837-8805.
