Ecole Routhier parents host bottle drive in support of field

Ecole Routhier School Grade 6 students and teachers are seeking community support to help cover the expense of a proposed educational field trip to Edmonton May 21 to 22.

To ensure all students have the opportunity to participate in this educational experience, a group of Grade 6 parents has formed a fundraising committee. The primary objective of this committee is to raise sufficient funds to help cover the entire cost of the field trip, thus ensuring no student misses out on this exciting opportunity due to financial restraints.

The parent fundraising committee intends to meet this objective through the launch of a community bottle drive, scheduled to take place Friday, April 24 at 6 p.m. at the McLennan Bottle Depot.

In addition to relying on recyclable beverage container donations from friends, family and neighbours, students and the parent fundraising committee are also seeking the support of various organizations and individuals within the Smoky River region to help achieve their targeted goal.

All donations are gratefully accepted and can be dropped off the week of April 20 to 24 at Ecole Routhier School in Falher between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. (preferably enclosed in bags). Beverage containers can also be dropped off at the McLennan Bottle Depot on Friday, April 24 between the hours of 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. ONLY. Please note that students will not be going door-to-door.

The parent fundraising committee wishes to extend a special thank-you in advance to everyone in the community for supporting this worthwhile educational initiative for our Grade 6 students.
