Karen Lee Backs of École Providence School in McLennan, Alberta, has been chosen as Holy Family Catholic Regional Division No. 37’s nominee for the Alberta School Boards Association Edwin Parr Award. This award is for successful first year K – 12 teachers.
Karen teaches kindergarten at Providence School.
She is a child-loving, family woman who enjoys gardening, camping, and painting.
Karen reads extensively and listens to classical and “world” music. Karen’s career decision stems from her love of learning and her love of children.
She graduated from the Aboriginal Teaching Program at the University of Alberta. Karen is a sensitive person who loves doing for others and never talks down to anyone including her students. She stands up for truth and is ready to defend the innocent.
Holy Family Catholic Regional Division No. 37 is happy to have Karen as part of their “teaching family” and feels she is deserving of being nominated for the Edwin Parr Award.
