The first house built as part of a development promotion in the town of McLennan is officially for sale.

Town administrator Tammy Stout explains the design is a Home Hardware package called Applecroft built on 55 Bousfield.

The project features three bedrooms upstairs, a main bathroom, ensuite bathroom, and ensuite walk-in closet in the master bedroom. These are just some of the distinct features of the 1,399 sq. ft. house.

“The home was built as part of an agreement between the town of McLennan and MoCon Industries to build two houses in McLennan,” says Stout. “The home is now on sale through the town of McLennan, interested buyers can contact me directly.”

The projects were started to encourage new developments in McLennan, where town council is adamant about improving the aesthetics of the community.

The house, built on 55 Bousfield Ave is now available for purchase.

Public viewing has been scheduled to promote the sale of the property and to have the house completed according to the purchaser’s wishes.

Viewing appointments can be scheduled from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on the following Saturdays: July 11, 18, and 25. Viewing can also be scheduled by calling the town office at 780-324-3065. Options for the finishing touches of the house can be discussed during the public viewing sessions.

An open house is also scheduled for Friday and Saturday, August 7 and 8 if a sale for the property is not completed by those dates. Details will be provided by the town at a later date.

“The town of McLennan supports all development in our town, and the construction of this house is one strategy to promote new development,” says Stout. “Land currently owned by the town will only be considered for sale on the guarantee that the purchaser begin and complete construction within a two year period. All new developments will serve to increase our tax base, reducing some of the tax burden on current land owners, while providing money to support infrastructure.”
