A big push will be made in the next month to try to sell the remaining 700 tickets in the Falher Recreation Development Society’s raffle.
The initial deadline for the lottery was April 25 during the Whitemud Quad Rally, but due to poor sales of the tickets, the committee requested an extension. They were granted an extension until Aug. 4, when they are hoping they will have all the 1,500 tickets sold.
“We were at the IGA & Co-op on 10 per cent Tuesday, at the 5-star on July 11 and 12,” says Lorraine Desaulniers. “We will also be doing door-to-door campaigning during the month of July. This will be a big push to sell before the draw on August 4th.”
The committee (also known as SCORE) has raised a total of $490,000. All the money goes directly to the costs accrued in building, maintaining and developing the new recreation complex.
