for Smoky River Express

Eaglesham Lakeside Golf and Country Club held its annual men’s and women’s golf tournament on July 4 and 5.

The tournament attracted 82 men and 32 women for a total of 114 golfers over the weekend.

The women’s results are as follows:

Flight 4 winner was Fern Laderoute of Girouxville with a score of 218. Runner up was Heather Schramm of Peace River with 241.

Flight 3 winner was Carol Garbitt from Valleyview with a score of 205. Runner up Lucy Gagnon of St. Isidore had a score of 207.

Flight 2 winner was Irene Sather with a score of 184. Runner up was Judy Hamlin of High Prairie with a score of 190.

Flight 1 winner was Danielle Mazurek from Grande Prairie with a score of 178. Runner up in flight 1 was Paulette Bugnet of Falher with a score of 189.

Flight CF winner was Delia DeJong from Grande Prairie with a score of 148. With a score of 162 was runner up Connie Schultz from Slave Lake.

Men’s results are as follows:

Flight 6 winner Ernie Ominayak from High Prairie with a score of 193. Runner up Joseph Chalifoux of High Prairie had a score of 205.

High Prairie’s Clarence Dumont won flight 5 with a score of 181. Runner up Doug Flett of Gift Lake had a score of 186.

Flight 4 winner Justin Davidson from Spirit River had a score of 166. Ken Smith of Athabasca was runner up with a score of 170.

Flight 3 winner Dave Byrtus of Grande Prairie had a score of 164. Bill Evans was a close second, the Peace River resident had a score of 165.

Flight 2 winner Jimmy Nicholson of Spirit River had a score of 152. Falher resident Dave Pedden was runner up, also with a score of 152.

Flight 1 winner was Barney Wiebe of LaCrete with a score of 151. Runner up, also from LaCrete, was Ed Wiebe with a score of 151.

Flight CF winner was Chris Peters from Fort Vermillion with a score of 146. McLennan’s Doug Chalifoux was runner up with a score of 146.
