Golfer tees-off a hole-in-one at Smoky River Regional Golf Course

Every golfer’s dream is to shoot at least one hole-in-one in their golfing career.

This became reality for senior golfer Adam Gladue, 68, of McLennan at the Smoky River Regional Golf Course on August 7.

“We have a crew that comes out everyday at 1p.m. to golf,” says club member and avid golfer Doug Chalifoux. “There were five golfers that day golfing from McLennan. Normally we have eight from McLennan and two from Donnelly.”

Chalifoux explained when Gladue teed off at Hole 2, he thought he had hit the ball to the right of the green. However, with closer observation, one of his golfing buddies actually found Gladue’s ball in the cup.

Hole 2 in McLennan is a par 3 with a distance of 151 yards.

“I don’t think Adam’s been golfing very long so it’s nice to see him achieve something like this in the sport,” says Chalifoux. “These people come out whenever feasible when the weather is cooperating.”

Chalifoux says Gladue has only been hitting the links for about the past eight years.

Including Gladue, there were a total of five golfers in their group that day.

The golfers included Oma Casault, Paul Dubrule, Pete Clemens, and Pinto Rondeau, who are all members of the Smoky River Regiona
