Blaze of glory

Smoky River Region Fire and Rescue along with Donnelly Fire Department, McLennan Fire Department, and High Prairie Fire Department conducted a fire practice on Oct. 28. Regional fire chief Joh McDermott explains the practice was conducted to ensure firefighters were comfortable in a situation involving pressurized fuel fires. A total of 20 firefighters gathered from all four detatchments. The mock pressurized fuel fire was conducted at the water treatment plant property in McLennan. This was the first practice of this sort conducted in the Smoky River Region.


Archbishop’s Dinner to be held on Nov. 21
A supper is being hosted by Archbishop Gerard Pettipas and many local volunteers on Nov. 21 at the Chevaliers Centre in Falher.

Local soldiers special guests at Remembrance Day ceremonies
Ceremonies to remember fallen and surviving soldiers will be held in McLennan on Nov. 11 again this year.
