Sports: Hythe Mustangs take it to the Pirates in a 7–4 game

The Hythe Mustangs visited Falher on Nov. 7, hoping to rope in a victory against the Pirates.
The two teams came out quite even in the first, with both scoring a goal even strength.
Hythe scored at 13:56, with a goal from Mike Lefley. Pirates answered back at 18:51 in the first with a goal by Davis Baroldi, assisted by captain Jason Bouchard.
Hythe was on a mission in the second, with Mustangs forward Jay Christie scoring only 45 seconds in for a two to one lead. Their offense did not subside, with a second goal scored at 1:29 by Ryan Lizotte.
They strengthened their lead by scoring two shorthanded goals on Pirates starting goalie Leslie Montpellier. One goal scored by Collin Lefley at 6:15, and one scored by Bob Balderston at 4:02.
Pirates starting goalie Leslie Montpellier was pulled at 6:00 of the second period, replaced by Todd Rodgers.
Pirates answered back at 7:02 with a goal from Denis Rochon, assisted by Josh Fletcher.
Hythe’s dominance continued with a goal at 9:32 of the second.
The third period started with a goal by Hythe forward Bob Balderston. Pirates answered back twice on the power play with goals from forwards Blake Myatt and Josh Fletcher.
The Pirates attempted to even the score, shooting 34 times in the game against Hythe’s goalie Kevin Tillotson. However; despite 10 power play opportunities, the Pirates came up short, succumbing to the Mustangs in a 7–4 loss.
A total of 16 penalties were handed out during 60 minutes, with Hythe not capitalizing on any of their six opportunities. Pirates scored twice with the man advantage.
Game winning goal was scored by Bob Balderston. Short handed goals were scored by Hythe forwards Collin Lefley and Bob Balderston.
