Falher Pirates take vengeance on the Valleyview

Falher Pirates were visited by the Valleyview Jets on Dec. 18, hoping to put one more gift under the tree right before Christmas.
The Pirates were hoping to get two points from the East Division’s bottom feeding team. All their Christmas wishes came true as Valleyview managed to score only three goals in an 11–3 Pirates victory.
Pirates opened the scoring at 9:39 of the first period with a goal by captain Jason Bouchard, assisted by Daniel Aubin and Keith Reade. Opening period saw the Pirates out-shoot the Jets by a margin of 14-12.
Second period action was kicked off by a Pirates goal at 2:51 by Daniel Aubin. Assists were earned by Denis Rochon and Danny Dubois.
Valleyview answered back at 3:46 on the power play with a goal by Mackenzie Caron. Assisted by Ryan Reeves and Brian Bablitz.
Pirates had four consecutive goals afterwards, with markers by Evan Zawacki (2), Jason Bouchard, and Matts Maisonneuve.
Assists were awarded to Tim Clayton, Blake Myatt (2), Jared Zawacki, Deric Meunier, and Ryan Hicks.
Shots in the second were 18 – 11 in favour of the Pirates.
Third period action was dominated again by the Pirates. Blake Myatt opened the scoring at 1:48, assisted by Daniel Aubin and Matts Maisonneuve.
Valleyview tried to fight back with a power play goal scored by Frazier Caron, assisted by Mackenzie Caron and Ryan Reeves.
Falher scored three straight in the next six and a half minutes with all three scored by Keith Reade. Assists were marked by Jason Bouchard (3) and Daniel Aubin.
Valleyview managed one last goal at 16:40 of the third, the marker made by Mackenzie Caron, assisted by Brad Bablitz and Frazier Caron.
Falher’s last goal was scored at 18:19 by Jason Bouchard, assisted by Aubin and Deric Meunier.
Falher Pirates did not score on three man-advantage opportunities, and the Jets capitalized on only two of their eight opportunities.
Game winning goal was scored by Evan Zawacki.
Power play markers were made by Mackenzie and Frazier Caron.
