Sports: Eagles redeem themselves in a 15–5 victory over the Jets

Lakeland Eagles visited the Valleyview Jets on Jan. 19 with hopes of redeeming themselves after a blow-out loss to Dawson Creek the weekend before.
The Eagles opened the scoring at 6:07, with a marker by Tyler Shantz. Assists were earned by Jay Anderson and Katlin Marshall.
Valleyview tied it up at 7:25, with a goal by MacKenzie Caron. Assists were tallied by Frazier Caron and Ryan Reeves.
Joey Anderson started the runaway train for the Eagles at 7:51, scoring even strength with help from Jay Anderson and Shantz.
Lance Gauchier gave the Eagles a 3-1 advantage going into the second with a goal at 19:09. One assist was tallied by James Tallman.
Second period scoring was opened up by Marshall at 3:52, with an assist to Shantz.
Darwin Payou scored at 9:31, assisted by Tallman.
Travis Chalifoux quickly followed suit, scoring at 11:01, assisted by Shantz and Marshall.
Marshall scored his second of the period at 16:25, assisted by Shantz.
Jay Anderson scored his second of the night just 21 seconds later, assisted by Allan Anderson and Shantz.
Eagles were on fire in the second, scoring another goal at 18:31. Joey Anderson scored his second of the night, with assists by Dave Lamouche and A. Anderson.
Jets gasped for breath at 19:11, scoring even strength on a marker by MacKenzie Caron, with assists by Frazier Caron and Blaine Hoff.
Lakeland didn’t give the Jets any breathing room, scoring with just two seconds remaining in the second. Jay Anderson scored, assisted by Shantz. Score going into the third was 10-2 in favour of Lakeland.
Third period action was much the same, with very little defence exhibited by the Jets.
They opened the scoring at 4:12, with a goal by M. Caron, assisted by F. Caron and Sean Listage.
The Eagles counteracted at 5:10 scoring even strength. Joey Anderson tallied the two points while Allan Anderson received the assist.
Payou scored his second and third goals of the game just over three minutes apart. Assists were awarded to Chalifoux, Tallman, and Jay Anderson.
