OBIT ~ Germaine Marie Cartier, 1923-2011
|
Germaine Marie Cartier (nee Bisson) of Edmonton, Alberta passed away on May 18, 2011 at the Vancouver General Hospital after suffering a stroke in mid-April.
Germaine was born in Beauceville, Quebec, on October 10, 1923 to Yvonne and Wilfrid Bisson.
Germaine was predeceased by her loving husband, George-Albert Cartier. She is survived by their daughter, Carmen (living in Vancouver), her sisters, Fernande Campbell (of Edmonton), Evelyn Reese (of Brampton, Ontario), Jacqueline Bisson (of Nipawin, Saskatchewan), Louisa Lacasse (of New Wesminster, British Columbia) and Lorraine Nyuli (of Nipawin, Saskatchewan) and her brother Raymond Bisson (of Girouxville, Alberta).
Germaine also leaves behind more than 30 nieces and nephews from her immediate family.
She is also survived by numerous relatives in Quebec and the estern United States.
A prayer service for the late Germaine Cartier was held Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at Connelly-McKinley Funeral Home, 10011 – 114 Street, Edmonton.
A funeral mass took place on Thursday June 2 at St. Joachim’s Catholic Church; 9924 110 Street.
The burial of cremated remains followed at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 3 at Holy Cross Cemetery; 14611 Mark Messier Trail.
