Helene Bartsch Hausler, long-time resident of Donnelly, Alberta passed away in Peace River on January 31, 2012 at the age of 89 years .

Helene was born in Gottesberg, Germany on Feb. 16, 1922.

In 1953, she married her husband John (Hans) and moved to Canada where she joined him on their family farm south of Donnelly.

Baking, gardening, reading, and socializing were among her favorite activities, and she always had a special place in her heart for her dogs and her birds.

Helene is predeceased by her parents, her husband John, and her sister Anna.

She is survived by her five children: Fred, John, Isabelle (Morley Perry), Peter (Doris), and Gordon (Helene); eight grandsons, four great-grandsons, one great-granddaughter, and her sister, Elfriede.

Funeral services held Feb. 4

Funeral services were held on February 4, 2012 in Donnelly, with Father Charles Lavoie, P.H. officiating.

Interment followed at the Donnelly Cemetery.
