James Ayling, 1939-2008
James Alan William Ayling, a long-time resident of the Watino area, passed away on June 11, 2008, at the age of 69.
Alan was born in Watino on March 11, 1939, to parents Jim and Janet Ayling.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Katie, his stepchildren, Ken (Deb) Phillips and family, Deb (Bert) Jacob and family, Peggy (Claude) Langlois and family, Bill (Iona) Phillips and family, sisters Alice Henry, Marion Boreen and Doris (Pete) Gladden, numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
Alan was predeceased by his parents, sister Florence, brothers-in-law Bill Henry and Tuffy Boreen as well as two nieces, a great niece, and two great-great nephews.
Alan grew up on the farm where he raised cattle and Appaloosa horses. He won many trophies at gymkhana events and fairs with his Appaloosa stallion “Chief.”
He also drove thoroughbred chariots at Tee Pee Creek Stampede and other rodeos.
Alan was cremated.
