Claudia Carter, 1917 - 2007
Claudia Leontine Carter, former longtime resident of Villa Beausejour in Falher, Alberta, and the last two years in McLennan at Sacred Heart Community Health Centre extended care nursing home, passed away July 9, 2007 in McLennan at Sacred Heart Community Health Centre at the age of 89 years and nine months.
Claudia was born on Oct. 8, 1917 in Cluny, Alberta.
Claudia will be fondly remembered for her love of her family and reading about the Royal Family.
She had a special love for white persian cats, playing crib and canasta, listening to music, talking on the telephone, writing letters, and also keeping a journal every day for many years.
She will be missed by everyone who knew her, including her special friend Mrs. Inga Blomert.
Claudia was predeceased by Horace Laflamme in 1942, three daughters in 1938, 1954, and 1955, her second husband in 1986, father Joe Bouchard and mother Leontine Boissonneault.
She is survived by daughters Irene (Larry) Helfrick of Red Deer and Jeannette (Bob) Bohme of Vernon, British Columbia, and sister Marie-Ange (Henri) Tardif of McLennan; four granddaughters, three grandsons, five great-grandchildren, and two great-great- granddaughters.
Funeral services for the late Claudia Carter were held July 14 in McLennan at St. John the Baptist Cathedral with Rev. Joseph Jacobson and Deacon Reg Bouchard officiating.
Carolyn Jacobson was organist.
Interment followed at McLennan Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and Smoky River Palliative Care Society in McLennan.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Chapel of Memories, Peace River.
