Laure (Boudreault) Desilets, 1910-2009

Laure (Boudreault) Desilets, longtime resident of Falher, Alberta, passed away at McLennan Hospital on March 31, 2009 at the age of 98 years. Laure was born on July 18, 1910, Grandmere, Quebec, in a large family. She married Joseph Boudreault, August 20, 1930. They lived in Quebec until they decided to make a huge move to Alberta in July of 1946. They drove up with a family of 7 children, ages 3 months to 14 years, and 3 adults. It was an event to say the least. They stayed in places like Rycroft, Codesa, then finally they built a small home on their land and stayed there until 1957. They then purchased some land from Antonio Desgagne, west of Eaglesham and moved there until 1967. They then sold and moved to town. Mom moved in the Villa Beausejour in Falher from 1975 until her passing in 2009. She enjoyed it there, this was her home for almost 34 years. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Her oldest son, Camile (Dorothy Trapp) Boudreault, Majorique (Frances Amundson) Boudreault, Clem (Margaret Morrison) Boudreault, Cora Chabot (Ernest), Claudette Pelletier (Alfred), Lise Gillon, Claire Tattrie (Evan), Jaques (Andree Villeneuve) Boudreault; her grandchildren: Marlene and Randy Boudreault, Sharlene, Laura, Jerry, Maureen and Joe Boudreault, Mary Jeanne and Ernie Boudreault, George, Roland, Adele, Phillip Chabot, Bob Mollison and Lorraine Pelletier, Lynn Gillon, Sylvia, Bruce, Simon Tattrie, David Boudreault, and her numerous great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Marie (Nairon) Martel, her son Yvon Boudreault (1958), a grandson Randy Boudreault in 1958, another baby grandson in 1963, a son-in-law Robert Mollison in 1965, her first husband Joseph Boudreault in 1991, another son-in-law Julien Gillon in 2002, and her second husband Benoit Desilets in 2006. Funeral service will be held at St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church in Eaglesham, Alberta on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Palliative Care Centre (Bag 2000, McLennan, Alberta, T0H2L0).
