Sylva Fortier, ?-2008

Sylva Fortier of Edmonton, formerly of Guy and Donnelly, passed away February 8, 2008, at the age of 60 years. Sylva is survived by his living wife of 38 years, Delores, son Allan Fortier (Anna) and daughter Heidi Pratt (Duain) as well as grandchildren Melissa, Tyler, TJ, Aydan and Liam, numerous nieces and nephews and brothers Victor Fortier of Edmonton, AB, Andy Fortier of Boyle, AB, Raymond Fortier of Prince George, B.C., sisters Lucille Gosselin of Guy, AB, Noella Lundblad of Valleyview, AB, Blanche Osborne of Kelowna, B.C. and aunts and uncles. Sylva was predeceased by his parents, Josephat and Rose Fortier, brothers Lucien and Denis Fortier as well as sisters Rita Collin and Germaine McKinnon. Sylva had a special place in everyone’s heart. His home was always open to family and friends. He was a very caring person who would drive anyone around the city and regularly visit people at the hospital. Sylva will be dearly missed by relatives and friends. Vicki Herron (Richard) and Trevor Casaway will forever have a special place in their hearts for such a loving uncle. Funeral service for Sylva Fortier was held February 19, 2008, at Parkview Memorial Chapel, Edmonton, AB, with cremation to follow.
