Therese Florida Fortier, 1928-2008
Therese Florida Fortier, resident of Falher, Alberta passed away on October 23, 2008, in the McLennan Hospital at the age of 80.
Therese was born on April 21, 1928, at Hartford, Connecticut. She was the fourth child of Fernande Caron and Maurice Cliche. The family arrived in Falher, in 1930. Therese attended the convent and school in Falher. In 1951, she married Simon Fortier. They had a daughter, Diane in 1955. In 1974, they sold the farm north of Guy and moved to Falher.
Therese was predeceased by her husband, Simon Fortier, her parents, Fernande (Caron) and Maurice Cliche, her two brothers, Leo and Paul Emile Cliche, and two of her sisters, Rollande (Joe Morin) and Rita (George Dumas).
Therese is survived by her daughter, Diane (Wilson), Diane’s partner, Mark Szabo of Canyon Creek, and two sisters, Helene (Jean Claude Houle) of Sorrel, P.Q. and Cecile (George Dumas) of St. Albert.
Funeral services for the late Therese Fortier were held October 28, 2008 at 2 p.m. from St. Anne Cemetery with Deacon Reginald Bouchard officiating.
Urn bearer was Paulette Bisson and Honourary pallbearers Isabelle Doran and Noella Fortier.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Chapel of Memories, Peace River.
