Aline (Guindon) Giroux resident of Falher passed away on March 11 in McLennan hospital at the age of 100.
Aline was born on Nov. 7, 1908 at Sudbury, Ont. She arrived to the Smoky River region in 1912.
Aline always kept busy. She was a very good cook, who enjoyed crocheting, knitting and embroidery.
She was predeceased by her husband Roland, son Paul-Emile, and three daughters; Rolande Langelier, Evelyne Clausen and Rita Derosier. She leaves to mourn five children: Yvette (Andre) Albinati of Falher, Denis (Helene) of Chilliwack, BC, Noella (Gaston) Charest of Falher, Dora Chalifoux of Falher, and Raymond (Jeanette) of Nakusp, BC. She also leaves sister Germaine Labbe of Edmonton.
She was fortunate to have lived long enough to be part of five generations in her family. Aline lived through many changes and will be remembered for her stamina. She will be dearly missed.
Funeral services for the late Aline Giroux were held March 17 at the Ste. Anne Parish in Falher with Father Charles Lavoie officiating. Organist was Nicole Beaudoin. Pallbearers were grandchildren Sylva Giroux, Donald Giroux, Michel Charest, Daniel Charest, Paul Langelier and Denis Langelier.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Chapel of Memories, Peace River
