Germaine Josette (Lafleur) Isert, 1929-2009

Germaine Josette (Lafleur) Isert long time resident of McLennan passed away on March 9, 2009 at the age of 79 years. Germaine was born on March 19, 1929 in Gardner, Mass. At a very young age along with her parents and three older siblings they made their journey to Kathleen, Alberta. In 1952 she met and married Ernie Isert and they were blessed with four children. Germaine is survived by her children: Dwaine (Paulette Lavoie) of McLennan, Brian (Juanita Barnes) of Moscow, Russia, Dennis (Wanda Nawrot) of McLennan and Barbara Curry of Victoria, B.C. as well as sixteen grandchildren and their spouses and nine great-grandchildren, one brother Leonard (Elsie) Lafleur and one sister Marianne Morrison. Germaine was predeceased by her husband Ernie Isert on April 3, 2008, her parents Wilfred and Laura Lafleur; three brothers Wilfred Jr., Charlie and Dallard as well as one sister Yvonne Heffernon. Funeral Services were held at St. John the Baptist Cathedral on March 14, 2009 with Rev. Joseph Jacobson officiating. Honorary Pallbearers were Crystal Isert, Heather Adams, Angè le O’Shea, Charlene Born, Tasha Pitre, Jessica Isert, Amy Farney, Cathryn Isert, Sarah Isert and Rebekah Isert. Interment to follow at the McLennan Catholic Cemetery. Funeral arrangement were made under the direction of Chapel of Memories, PeaceRiver, AB
