Joseph St. Laurent, 1931 - 2000

St. Laurent, Joseph long time resident of Falher passed away November 23, 2000, in Edmonton at the age of 68. Joe was born on December 25, 1931 in Edmonton. He retired in 1997. He used to volunteer as a fireman both in Morinville and Falher, including the Fire Chief, member of a town Council, both in Morinville and Falher also a member of the board of directors for the Falher Co-op Association, Alberta Beekeepers Association and the Falher Chamber of Commerce. He was also an active member of the Knights of Columbus and the Lions Club.
He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Marie St. Laurent, 3 brothers, Ronnie, Bob and Buster St. Laurent. He is survived by his wife, Fran, daughters Kathy (Ernie) Marchildon, Ollie (Andre) Berube and Marie St. Laurent (Leo Thibault) all from Falher; also Denise (Keith) Schamber (Grande Prairie). Grandchildren Dawn (Ron), David, Jenny, Tiffany, Randy and Bryan. Sisters, Theresa (Emile) Ricard (Mearns), Cecile (Harold) Schultz (Legal), Rita (Wally) Samborski (Morinville) and Anita (Mike) Fundytus (Edmonton). The funeral services were held on November 28, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Deacon Reginald Bouchard and Paul Plouffe OM. Pallbearers were Norm Coulombe, Philip Doran, Fern Chailler, Maria Doucet, Yvonne Paradis, Norman St. Laurent, Wayne St. Laurent and Tom St. Laurent. The active pallbearers were David Marchildon, Ronald Lefevre, Maurice St. Laurent, Donny St. Laurent, Roger St. Laurent and Real St. Laurent.
