Yvette Laflamme, 1920-2008
Yvette Bertille Laflamme of Falher passed away at the McLennan Sacred Heart Healthcare Centre on April 6, 2008, at the age of 87 years.
Yvette, daughter of Alphonse and Hélèna Martineau, was born in Falher on August 22, 1920.
The second oldest in a family of eight, she attended school in Falher.
In 1942, she married Joseph Laflamme.
They had six children: Yvonne, Richard, Cécile, Jeanne, Claire and Paul.
In 1995, they moved to the town of Falher.
In the spring of 2003, after the death of her husband of 61 years, Yvette moved to the Villa Beauséjour where she resided until her passing. She was an exemplary wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She had a heart of gold; always ready to welcome anyone who came to her door.
She is pre-deceased by her parents, her husband, her son, Richard, and her grandson, Marc.
She is survived by five of her children, 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
She will long be remembered for the unconditional love and gentleness that she always showed everyone.
Funeral services for the late Yvette Laflamme were held at St. Anne Catholic Parish in Falher on April 9, 2008 with Father Boniface N`Kuku Lupitshi officiating.
Music was provided by Ernest and Rolande Johnson and Anita Anctil on the clarinet.
Pallbearers were Lance Pawlik, Rene Hebert, Alain Anctil, Jeremy Laflamme, Joanne Hebert and Chantal Laflamme with Julie Anctil carrying the cross – all grandchildren of Yvette.
Readings were done by Sara Laflamme and Rachelle Anctil.
Evelyne Lefebvre, niece and god daughter read the eulogy.
Yvette was buried beside her husband in the Falher cemetery.
Funeral arrangements were under the arrangements of the Chapel of Memories of Peace River.
