Leonard Alphonse Martineau, 1926 - 2000

After a brief battle with cancer, Leonard passed away in the Queen Elizabeth 11 Hospital on November 17, 2000 at the age of 74 years. Leonard was born on July 20, 1926 in Falher Alberta.
Leonard will be fondly remembered for his quiet and gentle nature. Leonard lives his entire life on the family homestead in Falher where he enjoyed farming until his passing. He also enjoyed a good hockey game whether on TV or in the Falher arena where he also spent a few winters as caretaker. His nieces and nephews have many fond and cherished memories of spending their summers with Uncle Leonard on the farm.
Leonard leaves to morn, his brother Marcel and his family: Orietta Smith and family; Lililian Martineau, Lise Martineau (Eggbert Lamber), and family; Anita (Spencer) Edmonson and family; Giles Martineau. He also leaves to morn, his sister Lucille (Rosario) Normandeau and their family; Michael Normandeau (Elaine King) and family, Lorraine (Raymond) Boisvert and family, Dorine (Jean) Boisvert and family; Claude (Monica) Normandeau and family; Vivian (Richard) Borstad and family; Clement Normandeau (Ruth Hobbs) and family; Louise (Roy) Lepage; Robert (Sheryl) Normandeau.
He also leaves many other relatives and good friends with loving memories.
Leonard was predeceased by his father, Damase Martineau on 1953, his mother Odina (Lamothe) Martineau in 1971; and sister-in-law Rita Martineau in 1999.
Prayer service was held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2000, at St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church, Falher, Alberta.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2000, at St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church, Falher, Alberta. Internment followed in the Falher Cemetery.
