Donald Lloyd, 1937 - 2007

Donald Edward Lloyd, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother, passed away with grace and dignity at the palliative care unit in Valleyview Hospital, on June 8, 2007 at the age of 69 years and 11 months. Don was born on July 21, 1937 in McLennan, Alberta. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife Florence (Dupuis), and their children, Leslie (Debbie) of Clairmont, Alberta, Jane (Peter) Serr of Winnipeg, Manitoba, William (Michelle) of Valleyview, Alberta, JoAnn (Alan) Hanson of Brooks, Alberta, Brian (Cindy) of Grande Prairie, Laurrie (Leo) Dumont of Falher, Alberta, Donna (Wade) Kirkpatrick, of Fort. St. John, British Columbia. He also leaves behind 14 grandchildren; Michael, Joshua, Christy-Lynn (Jud) Martin of Beaverlodge, Alberta; Terrance, Daren, Lindsay, Bryan, Evan, Sara, Spencer, Jessica, Devon, Jason, Shelby and two great-grandchildren Clayton and Emmersyn, his brothers; Bob (Irene) of Kelowna, BC, Allen (Patricia) of Calgary, AB, Gordon (Noel) of Calgary, AB and sister Evelyn (John) Lawson of Crooked Creek, AB. He was predeceased by his parents Alton and Louise, brothers Leslie, Ralph, Kenneth, Arnold, Bruce and sister Patricia. Our father’s passions and zest in life were his family, friends, hunting, camping, fishing and enjoying life and all that it had to offer. He lived life to the fullest, never missing an opportunity to try new experiences. His love for the outdoors, came second only to time spent enjoying his grandchildren and family. He will be forever in our thoughts and in our hearts. We love you Dad, until we meet again. God bless you, your loving family. Memorial service in celebration of Don’s life will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2007 at 2 p.m. at the Memorial Hall in Valleyview, Alberta. In memory of Don, in lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made by to the Cross Cancer Institute, 11560 University Ave. Edmonton, AB T6G 1Z2 A very special thank-you to the Doctor’s and staff of the Valleyview Hospital for the loving care that our father received during his final months of life.
