Constant Maisonneuve longtime resident of Donnelly and currently of Grande Prairie, Alberta passed away at the Q.E.II Hospital on May 11, 2009 at the age of 72.
He was born on December 18, 1936 in McLennan, Alberta. Constant had talents in many trades such as woodworking, welding, machining, carpentry and mechanics. He owned and operated gravel/logging trucks and was a proficient sawyer in lumber camps for many years. He also worked for the High Prairie School Division as a mechanic before his retirement in 1994. In his later years, Constant particularly enjoyed woodworking and wood carving. Constant was known for his kindness and compassion as well as his sense of humor and unselfishly bestowed upon others the love he carried within him. His love and devotion for his family was clearly demonstrated in everything he did for them however nothing brought him greater pleasure than his grandchildren.
Constant will be sadly missed by his wife of 52 years, Therese, his two daughters Diane Brochu and Jo-Anne Ouellette and son-in-law Don Ouellette, grandchildren Darren, Shari, Krystle & Kimberly Brochu, Donnie & Devon Ouellette, his mother Laura Maisonneuve, his nine brothers and sisters and numerous nieces and nephews. Constant loved singing & music, and although he is no longer with us, his words and his melody will ring forever in the hearts of those he has touched.
He is predeceased by his father Honoré Maisonneuve.
The funeral was held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Grande Prairie, Alberta on Thursday, May 14, 2009 at 10:00 a.m.
