Leo Maissoneuve, 1931 - 2007

Leo Maisonneuve, longtime resident of Whitemud Creek, Alberta, passed away August 15, 2007 at home at 76 years of age. Leo was born January 18, 1931 in Beaumont, Alberta and arrived in this area in 1957. Leo was predeceased by his wife Bertha and brothers Armand and sisters Juliette Morin, Marie Gregoire, and Simone Soch. Loved and missed by extended family and many friends Leo is survived by his daughters Cheryl James of Edmonton, Lucy (Chris) Saville of High Prairie, Judy (Leon) Burdin of Edmonton, and Lynn (Dave) Gaydosh of Peace River, brothers Robert Maisonneuve of Fort Qu’Appelle, Saskatchewan; Romeo Maisonneuve of Sechelt, British Columbia; and Louis Maisonneuve of Rochester, Alberta. Funeral service held Aug. 20 in Peace River Funeral services for the late Leo Maisonneuve were held Aug. 20 in Peace River at Chapel of Memories with Emile Johnson presiding. A few of Leo’s favourite songs were played. Pallbearers were Rob James, Chris James, Damen Saville, Ashley Hnytka, Jonathan Gaydosh, Linden Gaydosh, Allison Gaydosh, and Erin Gaydosh. Cremation followed. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Chapel of Memories, Peace River.
