Roger Papineau, 1927-2009

Roger Papineau, long time resident of Girouxville, passed away on Feb. 12 in his sleep at the McLennan Hospital at the age 81 years. He was born July 15, 1927 in Girouxville. Roger was a farmer, logger and equipment operator with help from his sons. Roger was predeceased by his sister Therese, mother Irene and father Davilda, brothers Marcel of Girouxville and Terry of Quesnel, and son Edward of Whitemud. Roger is survived by his wife of 56 years, Annie, his sons; Donald (Terri) of Red Deer, Gerald (Noella) of Donnelly, and his daughter Carol (Rob) of Valleyview. Roger is also survived by sister Pauline (Paul) Labbe of Falher, brother Albert (Mary) of Girouxville, sister-in-law Alice Papineau of Falher, daughter-in-law Leona Papineau of Caroline, his grandchildren; Jackie (Curtis), Mandy (Trevor), Brandon (Kristine), Stephanie (Justin) and Ariana. Funeral services for the late Roger Papineau were held Feb. 17 from the Chapel of Memories in Peace River. Eulogist was Rob Dickson and readers for the service were Donald and Gerald Papineau. Honourary Pallbearers were all those who touched Roger’s life. Interment of the ashes will held in the springtime at Girouxville Cemetery.
