Harvey Penerowsky, 1915 - 2007

Harvey Penerowsky, former longtime resident of McLennan, passed away August 19, 2007 in McLennan at Sacred Heart Community Health Centre at 91 years of age. He wast born September 15, 1915 in Mikado, Saskatchewan. Harvey worked in McLennan for Northern Alberta Railway for 50 years, and his wife Jean worked at McLennan Co-op. Harvey will fondly be remembered in McLennan as an avid baseball player, his generous spirit, and love for his family. Harvey was an inventor but unfortunately never got any of his work patented. In 1976, after retiring from the railway, they moved to Vermilion and again in 2004 moved to Grande Prairie where his wife Jean passed away. Harvey relocated to McLennan in January 24, 2006 to Sacred Heart Community Health Centre long-term care. He is predeceased by his wife Jean, parents William and Olga Penerowsky, four brothers Alex, John, Mike, and Tom, and sister Mary. He leaves to his memory, two children Bill Penerowsky and Patricia Miller, both of Edmonton; five grandchildren Cyndi (Fred)Eggerstedt of Grande Prairie, Harvey (Tracey)Roshuk of Stony Plain, Jennifer (David)Kelly of Edmonton, Margaret Roshuk of Grande Prairie, and Jason of St. Paul; eight grandchildren, and three great- grandchildren. Funeral services were held Aug. 27 in Vermillion at Glad Tidings Pentecostal Church. Interment followed at Vermilion Public Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Crossroads Funeral Chapel in Vermilion Donations in memory of Harvey may be made to Ducks Unlimited or to the charity of one’s choice.
