Leona Thibault, 1934 - 2007
Leona Simonne Thibault, longtime resident of Tangent, Alberta passed away in Grande Prairie at Queen Elizabeth II Hospital on Saturday, June 30, 2007 at the age of 72 years after a heroic battle with cancer.
Leona was born on August 7, 1934 at McLennan, Alberta.
She was raised and lived most of her life in Tangent.
She married Rolland Thibault on December 31, 1952 in Tangent.
She leaves to mourn her children; Raymond (Christine), Lucien (Suzanne), Lise Mackenzie (Kent), and Michelle (Don Pelletier); her grandchildren Terry-Lynn, Joel, Nicole, Ryan, Danielle, Kristen, Chelsea, Katelin, and Evan; great-grandchildren Mason, Geena, Nia and Jayden; sisters Marie Hutton, Lucille, Marie-Paul (Ernest Guindon) and brothers Albert (Aline), Art (Bonnie) and Georges Duchesne (Olga).
She was predeceased by husband Rolland, parents Edmond and Maria Verreault, brothers Archille, Joseph, Leopold and sister Anne-Marie Duchesne.
The funeral was held on Wednesday, July 4, 2007 at 2 p.m. from St. Martyr Church in Tangent, Alberta.
Prayers were held on Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. at Oliver’s Grande Prairie Funeral Chapel (10005-107 ave) Grande Prairie.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital Foundation-5N Palliative Care Unit.
