Fernand August Trudel, 1929-2008

Fernand August Trudel, resident of McLennan, AB, passed away on Nov. 18, 2008, at Manoir du Lac at the age of 79. Fernand was born on March 6, 1929, at Legal, AB. He moved to Eaglesham in 1944 with his parents, Arthur and Mary Trudel, who began farming in the area. In 1950 he married Marie Martha Fortin and together they raised six children. Fernand’s interests in life consisted of fishing, gardening, music and family. During his life he farmed and drove a school bus for 30 years for the Spirit River School Division. In 1998, Fernand and Martha moved to Manoir St. Anne in Falher and enjoyed living in the area for 10 years prior to moving to Manoir du Lac in McLennan in February of 2008. Fernand, one of eight children, is predeceased by his son, Dennis Trudel, parents, Mary and Arthur Trudel, brothers, Hector, Oscar, Eddie and Lucien, and sisters, Ida Emard, Leona Tailleur and Bertha Lessard. He is survived by his wife, Martha of Falher, sons, Marcel (Quesnel, B.C.) and Hector (Falher), daughters, Helen Trudel (Penticton, B.C.), Johanne Trudel-Dekam (Edson, AB) and Dolores Trudel (Edmonton, AB). Funeral services for the late Fernand Trudel were held Nov. 22, 2008, in Tangent, AB, with Falher Maurice Marion officiating. Organist was Ernest and Rolande Johnson. Funeral services were under the direction of Chapel of Memories in Peace River, AB.
